Leaving Cert Applied

This course is a distinct, self contained two year Leaving Certificate programme designed to prepare students for further training and the world of work. It is designed to meet the needs of those students who are not adequately catered for by other Leaving Certificate programmes. The course is student centred and demands that the student becomes responsible for her work, her attendance and her progress.

Students are assessed for their Leaving Certificate under four headings:
• Key Assignments
• 90% attendance with satisfactory completion of module work
• Completion of seven tasks
• Final Examination in six core subjects

If a student wishes to continue to third level education in the Republic of Ireland, she MUST complete a Post Leaving Certificate course (P.L.C.) before she can enter
Institutes of Technology or Universities.
There is a large number of courses available in both the Republic of Ireland and
Northern Ireland for students who have successfully completed the LCA Programme.
