Loreto School Basketball

Loreto School Basketball

It’s been another really good year with the team on all fronts. We started the year with a bang when we won our first match. I think this really spurred us on and made us believe we could win and the whole team has really improved from last year. The first years have had an amazing year having only lost a single game. They all seem to have an understanding of each other’s style of playing and have really gelled as a team. It’s obvious to anyone who has seen them play that they will go far next year as well. In terms of winning games the second years haven’t been so lucky but we have surprised ourselves with how well we have played against teams that we always thought had the upper hand. When we remember to keep our heads up and be positive we can really perform. I have to point out how brilliantly Louise Coyne played this year on our second year team, she really outdid herself. The whole team would like to thank our coaches Ms. Henry and Ms. Barrett and of course the T.Y’s, Jane Gormley and Aisling Brennan, who have helped the first years so much this year just like our T.Y’s helped us in first year. The first years may have out shone us a bit this year but it’s definite next year that we are going to show them how it’s done! I hope next year is just as amazing as the last two years have been.
